Usage Guide
Agent Wispr is designed to stay out of your way while you work. It lives as a compact floating widget that sits on top of your windows.
Recording Modes
You can choose between two recording modes in Settings → General:
1. Push-to-Talk (Default)
Hold down the hotkey (default: Ctrl+Shift+Space) while you speak. The app records as long as the keys are held. Release the keys to stop recording and begin transcription.
2. Toggle Mode
Press the hotkey once to start recording. The widget will pulse to indicate it is listening. Press the hotkey again to stop recording.
Text Injection
Once transcription is complete, Agent Wispr automatically "types" the text into the window that was focused before you started recording.
Tip: If you are using an elevated application (like an Administrator Command Prompt), make sure to run Agent Wispr as Administrator so it has permission to inject text.
Word Corrections
Transcription isn't always perfect, especially with technical jargon or unique names.
- Right-click any entry in the Transcript History panel.
- Select "Add word correction...".
- Enter the word as it was heard (e.g., "clod code") and how it should be written (e.g., "Claude Code").
- Future transcriptions will now use your corrected spelling automatically.
AI Cleanup (Pro)
If you enable AI Cleanup in Settings, your transcription is passed through a fast LLM (via Groq) before being typed. This pass:
- Removes "umms", "ahhs", and repeated words.
- Corrects grammar and punctuation.
- Makes long-form dictation much more readable while preserving your intent.
