Yes. Transcription runs entirely on your machine using the local model you've downloaded. Once the model is cached, no network connection is required.
Accuracy depends on the model size and your accent. The large-v3 model is substantially more accurate on technical vocabulary and general English than the smaller models, at the cost of more VRAM and latency. The base model is fast and works well for clear speech in quiet environments. The word correction dictionary helps address jargon and project-specific terms regardless of model size.
The Free plan provides local dictation with the base model. Pro unlocks all models (tiny through large-v3), unlimited history, persistent word correction dictionary, full stats export, and priority support. See the current catalog on the Pricing page.
You get the current compiled Agent Wispr release for the platform artifacts listed on the Download page. No Python installation is required — download the available installer and run it.
Yes. On Windows and Linux with an NVIDIA GPU, the app automatically detects CUDA and uses it for significantly faster transcription. CPU fallback is automatic if CUDA is unavailable.
You can select any supported model size from the Settings window. The Microphone tab helps you confirm the correct input device before you record.
Open Settings → Microphone, choose the right input device, and confirm Agent Wispr is allowed in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone. If you just granted permission, quit and relaunch the app, then run the local microphone test again.
